Throughout my whole life, the people who has made an impact in my life has been my teachers, starting from elementary schools all the way up until my senior year in high school. Because they went beyond their way in teaching me, whenever I had trouble on an assignment or didn’t quit get what they were teaching me. They would always come over to me and assist me with plenty of information that helped me to understand. My teachers in high schools has really thought my life lessons, saying that once you get into college it won’t be easy teachers won’t baby you , keep reminding you on what assignments are due. You would have to know everything yourself. So what they did in order to prepare me, was give me classes that prepare me for college, like my magnet class at school nursing. Teach me the medical terms, bed making, stockings, blood pressure, CPR, and many more. My nursing magnet has really made an impact on me because this is the career field that I want to go into.
Education has always been an important factor to my family. My parents want me to grow up and be successful. The only person in my household who went to college and accomplished all four years and still taking college courses to get a higher degree in teaching, is my mother. She has put in all the time and the hard work to get to where she is today. Seeing how much work my mother has to do for her college classes and the amount of time, shows me that college life isn’t going to be easy at all. I would really have to pace myself and keep track of all the assignments I have been given. I had a time in my life where I just really wanted to give up on education. Because I got really stressed out to the point where I was in the hospital because I was having a nervous breakdown and was getting sick. Because I couldn’t handle all the assignments that needed to be worked on and turned in all at the same time, and I just became over whelmed. But they helped me understand the concept of achieving high school, by trying to work on the assignments in class before you get to the next class or when you get home so that you won’t have as much work piled up on you all at once.
Since middle school I have been interested in the nursing field not just because of the amount of money nurses makes, but for the simple fact that nurses help saves people’s and or children’s life. Working as nurse you get a lot of benefits while working, you have a flexible working schedule, can make a huge difference in the patient’s life, and you can work in different environments meaning your degree of a RNA, or LPN will allow you to have more options on where to work at. That also makes life changing events happen to people. The college life isn’t going to be easy, yes I know that but I’m ready to take that chance to help me pressure my dreams. That just means to work hard on everything that I do in order to make sure I get to where I want to be in life.
