If a two pound and five ounce baby boy with two birth defects a large heart and failure to thrive. The baby heart rate stops and there's no pulse and no respiration. So do you resuscitate the baby for seven minutes or do you stop after giving CPR for two minutes?
The good thing would be Is that you are able to bring the baby back to life and the baby will have a normal living a healthy life with no more birth defects. The bad thing would be is that the baby would have a long road from ICU and it would be a finical burden to the parents, like for funeral arrangements, hospital bills, and more. Some opinions I seen online about the same topic is saying, you should save a baby that has a birth defects even when their heart stops beating. It shows that once the baby heart starts beating back and grows up the birth defects can tend to go away once they get older. And it also tells that their are ways to prevent birth defects even before the baby is born. Like to be sure to see your healthcare provider regularly and start prenatal care as soon as you think you might be pregnant. Website: http://www.cdc.gov/ncbddd/birthdefects/facts.html My opinion would be that they shouldn't stop giving the baby CPR until the full amount of time is given. If they stop to soon there's a chance that the baby wouldn't come back to life, besides of keep going until the baby heart rate starts to come back. |
